Anonymous, Rapid, Point-of-Care HIV Testing

On January 22, clinical staff from Women’s Health in Women’s Hands Community Health Centre will be coming to Clara Benson to provide anonymous, free, and rapid point of care HIV testing throughout the day. The test involves a painless finger prick blood sample and results are ready in a matter of minutes.Testing is completely anonymous, meaning that you do not need to reveal your name or address in order to get tested. No one will know your result except you. You do not need any ID (OHIP,etc.) of any kind in order to get tested. It is freely accessible to all. Testing will be done on a first come first serve basis.

Wen-Do Self-Defence Workshop

WHC, in partnership with the Community Safety Office, is excited to host a women’s self-
defence course! This ‘taster’ course focuses on women’s empowerment and is intended to
teach women a number of self-defence strategies. More information on Wen-Do is

Please note: This event is free of charge and open to all women and girls ages 10 and up,
and is inclusive of transgender women who consistently identify themselves, present

Yoga Mat Chat

WHC is proud to be hosting our second annual Yoga Mat Chat. This year’s event will consist of a 45 minute yoga session led by instructor Violet Grosfics, followed by 20 minutes of small group discussion on the importance of setting boundaries in our relationships with others.

HIV Education Workshop

Come out for an educational workshop by Community Outreach Ambassadors at Women’s
Health in Women’s Hands Community Health Centre! They will be teaching you all about how to
combat HIV stigma in your community, educate others about HIV, and myths and facts about
HIV!

Women’s Hands Community Health Centre will be coming to the Dalla Lana School of Public
Health to provide anonymous, free, and rapid point of care HIV testing throughout the day. The
test involves a painless finger prick blood sample and results are ready in a matter of minutes.
Testing is completely anonymous, meaning that you do not need to reveal your name or address
in order to get tested. No one will know your result except you. You do not need any ID (OHIP,
etc.) of any kind in order to get tested. It is freely accessible to all. Testing will be done on a first
come first serve basis.

Menstrual Product Drive

Feb 4-Feb 15, 2019
WHC is holding a menstrual product drive from Feb. 4 to Feb 15 for those with limited access to
such products. We will be accepting donations for all sorts of menstrual products in partnership
with Moon Time Sisters, an organization that provides menstrual products for young girls and
women in northern Indigenous communities.
