Women’s Health Today

Biological and social differences can shape the experiences of health and disease between men and women and certain conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, manifest differently in women as well. Top issues in women’s health today include malnutrition, mental health, HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, cardiovascular disease, abortion and contraception, and pregnancy/childbirth. Aside from these health issues, gender-differentiated access to medical treatment and other socioeconomic factors can also be a barrier for accessing the help they require.
